5 Bentinck Street

London, W1

The brief was to create an 8 suite apart-hotel with an associated Mews house from an existing building previously used for commercial use and legendary status as an MI5 safe house/party location in the post war years.

The scheme was designed prior to an end user being confirmed, and the flexibility of the design proven when sensitively fitted out by the team of the eventual occupant Korman Communities. The fluted lift core and circular staircase of the original building was striking and unique and was repaired and reinstated to serve the new use. Its presence greets entrants into the ground floor lobby space.
