F e e s

Our fees vary depending naturally on the size of job. As a guide we tend to charge on the following basis

For smaller projects (under £100,000 construction cost)
Stage 1 - Site visit, Intial Proposals, Sketch design and then Planning drawings - £1,300 - £2,500
Stage 2 - Detail design, tender package, Contractor selection etc - Apprx 7-9% of construction cost
Stage 3 - Monitor works on site etc - by the hour (£65 perhour) Approximately £180 per visit

We will give an hours free consultation in our office in Farringdon. If you wish us to visit the property for the inital consultation we will charge £150 for an hour long visit.

urban mesh design was formally beazer brothers design ltd, formally established in 2001. It is a young architectural practice set up with the aim of working on commercial and residential projects of all sizes. As well as working in a traditional design-led capacity, we also offer the option of 'design & build' projects where the architects work closely with experienced contractors (either HBZ ltd or others) to provide a comprehensive service - high quality design at a reasonable price.

James Beazer, director, studied at Cambridge University, Oxford School of Architecture and the University of Madrid. He trained with WATG, American hotel designers and Wickham van Eyck Associates, working as project architect on Fish! restaurant, Borough Market and the extension to Kensington Place Restaurant. He has also worked as a computer animator for Miller Hare Ltd, producing videos and photomontages for clients such as Swatch Watches, Canary Wharf Developments and BAA. He is also director of Simply Crafted Urban Mesh developments, a property development company and Fabian Capital, a property fund management company.

Oliver Lazarus,director, studied at Cambridge University & Oxford School of Architecture. He started his career working with Constructive Individuals, a company training and working with self-builders and specialising in timber frame construction and environmental design. He then worked at JCMT architects on a number of housing projects in London for both social landlords and developers and was project architect on a new multi-use community centre in the heart of Kings Cross commisioned by Peabody trust. He is also director of Simply Crafted Urban Mesh developments, a property development company creating innovative new build and refurbishment projects in East London.

Dominic Beazer, consultant, trained as a carpenter at Hackney College. He has completed projects in London, Bath, Somerset and Greece. He has a degree in Classics from King's College London and qualified as a barrister.

Marco Braghiroli, consultant architect, studied at Politecnico di Milano and the Provinciale Hogenschool Limburg of Hasselt-Belgium. He worked with Arcdesign, Italian design company, on the Ceccato s.p.a. HQ office in Italy, and also with Piemme Engineering on the University Luigi Bocconi in Milan as safety consultant.

Natasha Dibley,consultant interior designer, studied at Chelsea School of Art and Kingston University. She has worked with designer George Ciancimino on high quality residential projects in central London, particularly around South Kensington.
