2B TREHURST STREET, LONDON E8

A NEW HOUSE

The extension and refurbishment of an old stable block to the rear of an existing shop in East London. The stable had been rebuilt after suffering bomb damage during the war but had fallen into disuse in recent years.

The building had a poor planning history, had no utility connections and was purchased by developers at auction. We negotiated a workable scheme with the local planning authority and oversaw the project to completion.

A single storey extension was built housing the bathroom and kitchen. This was utilised on upper levels as a roof terrace. The finished project is a model of urban regeneration in London and its unique feel ensured a quick sale for the developers.
